Nintendo Switch 2 Leak: Pre-Orders Could Drop Right After Nintendo Direct, Says Trusted Source
The Nintendo Switch 2 is no doubt very hyped despite the lack of an official launch thus far. Speculations are everywhere about its features and pricing, but a new pre-order leak claims that we could buy it sooner rather than later.
The clues are pointing to the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation where the Big N is expected to make a huge announcement about Switch 1's successor.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders Predicted After Nintendo Direct

The Shortcut's Matt Swider is one of the most reliable restock trackers who helped thousands of people get their hands on hard-to-find consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X. He recently forecasted that Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders will be available soon after the Nintendo Direct presentation.
On April 2 at 9 AM ET, the event is expected to reveal the console's features, price, and release date. In the same vein as the initial Switch release, large retailers such as Walmart, GameStop, and Target will likely start accepting pre-orders within an hour of the announcement.
Swider also predicts that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at $399, $50 above the current Nintendo Switch OLED and $100 above the launch price of the original Nintendo Switch. Other sources have repeated this pricing, stating that the enhanced hardware and features will be worth it.
If the pre-order leak is correct, we could potentially see the Switch 2 coming in spring.
Will Nintendo Switch 2 Have Restock Problems?
According to Tom's Guide, one of the biggest concerns about the Switch 2 release is whether it will experience the same restock issues that hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X. People who went through the crazy PS5 restock era recall how hard it was to get a unit without going through overpriced resellers.
Fortunately, Nintendo appears ready to steer clear of such pitfalls. In an interview with Japanese media recently, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa reaffirmed that the company is making moves to mitigate stock shortages.
"We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date (about scalpers and the like). We are making preparations," Furukawa said at the time.
If the new console can sell six million units in Q1 alone, Nintendo could double the production to stop Switch 2 scalpers.
