Apple has released iOS 16.2 beta 2 build number 20C5043e for Developers. Public Beta will be released soon too! Check out the bugs fixed in this update, the new features as well as any new problems that might make you to reconsider updating!

iOS 16.2 Beta 2 Problems

New bugs reported for this version are listed here, together with available workarounds:

  • 1. Freeform app issues: can’t delete boards while offline, or if iCloud data is disabled. | Adding or removing collaborators can fail while attempting to change share settings.
  • 2. Scrolling animation lags and stutters system-wide.
  • 3. Face ID not working
  • 4. Baseband damage
  • 5. Hard drive damage
  • 6. Front and back camera not working

iOS 16.2 Beta 2 Features

Changes included in this release when compared to Beta 1 are listed here:

  • 1. Medications Widget on Lock Screen comes in two options small and large size tracking a single pill or informing what medication is upcoming.
  • 2. More Frequent Updates option for Live Activities in TV app. Brings more info in real-time at the expense of battery life.
  • 3. Freeform app gets Cellular data toggle in Settings.
  • 4. 5G connectivity for India.

iOS 16.2 Beta 2 Bugs Fixed

Problems addressed in this version are highlighted here:

  • 1. Camera not closing when opened from Lock Screen has been addressed.
  • 2. App Store crashing when opening. (Status: Waiting for feedback)
  • 3. TV App play tracking now works on all platforms.
  • 4. Selecting an option from the candidate bar is no longer unresponsive when typing in Chinese Pinyin.

iOS 16.2 Beta 2 Download

This update is available, over-the-air, in Settings -> General -> Software Update to all compatible iPhones that run the iOS 16 Beta Software Profile for Developers.

It will soon be also downloadable to Public Beta testers that are signed up with the Apple Beta Software Program.
