January 7, 2026 – NVIDIA announced DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026, featuring a second-generation Transformer model for Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. This upgrade brings sharper images and up to 6x frame rates for RTX gamers.

DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026

Jensen Huang's keynote unveiled DLSS 4.5 as a free update for all RTX GPUs. Super Resolution is available now via NVIDIA App, with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation coming spring 2026 for RTX 50 series.

Super Resolution Upgrade

Second-gen Transformer model improves anti-aliasing, detail sharpness, and temporal stability. Reduces ghosting and artifacts – Quality mode now rivals native 4K in many games. Supports 250+ titles.

Dynamic Multi Frame Generation (DMFG)

RTX 50 exclusive: Dynamically generates up to 6 frames per rendered frame. Adjusts multiplier based on scene complexity for smoother FPS without artifacts. Targets 240+ FPS at 4K path tracing.

How to Enable DLSS 4.5

  1. Install latest driver (591.74+) and NVIDIA App Beta
  2. App > Graphics > DLSS Override > "Latest" model
  3. Enable DLSS in supported games – automatic upgrade

2026 Gaming Impact

DLSS 4.5 makes 4K high-FPS gaming standard on RTX. Older cards (20/30 series) get Super Resolution boost, RTX 50 owners gain massive frame rates. Future games will leverage it for next-gen visuals.

DLSS 4.5 is a free upgrade that keeps RTX cards relevant – biggest leap since DLSS 2.
